2009...moving on to bigger and better things

Now that we are well into the New Year, it is safe to say that 2009 will be a much better year than 2008. For example, I have already learned to ride a unicycle this year, and I'm loving it. I'm going to do my best to not get injured...so far so good. My 2008 stepped off on the wrong foot from day 1. Starting with an injury that I though was only physical, I spent the rest of the year working through the emotional damage. Sometimes the worst thing that has ever happened to you can end up being the best. I would never wish to repeat last year, but I do think I have managed to become a better person for it. I have learned a lot about myself, and what motivates me. Some things I liked and some things I did not.

In my blog thus far, I have shared many of my struggles. It has been cathartic for me, and I like to think it has helped others to gain perspective on their own lives and personal struggles. I feel like I am ready to move forward with a new outlook. I intend to pour all my efforts this year into what I love.

I will have my best competition year. I have been holding back with my contest preparation the past couple years, and not following the advice I give all my clients. I have made excuses and not taken my own goals seriously. This year, I will be my best student.

I will work harder toward organizing my business. I get worn down and burnt out with the long hours I work. I tend to procrastinate which makes me inefficient and stressed. I will be more productive and grow my business even if it means creating more work for myself.

I will become a resource for fitness to more than those I am in direct contact with. I love teaching people how to take control of their own lives through diet and exercise, but I can only affect those who come to me at the gym. I will seek to be involved with programs that allow me to contribute in my area of expertise as often as I can.
